Recent figures from The Pensions Regulator reveal that employers are still falling foul of auto-enrolment rules – with nearly £280,000 in fines issued in the second half of 2024 alone. More than a decade after auto-enrolment began, many businesses continue to struggle with ongoing pension duties, often due to overlooked record-keeping, system changes, or missed certification requirements.
Even well-organised employers can face risks if processes aren’t regularly reviewed. Taking time to check records, ensure systems remain aligned, and understand where responsibilities lie can help avoid costly penalties.
